In 2003, photographer Robert Sturman began practicing yoga and stumbled upon an unexpected muse for his art. Of import, the woman in the third photograph is 93!
Yoga offered me an opportunity to change my life, but it was also
something that was so beautiful to study, the poetry of asana. It
started growing from being able to photograph people on the beach to
being invited to a penitentiary with yoga programs to do yoga asana
imagery there.
Two beautiful artforms -- yoga and photography -- each elevated by the other. And yes, I did another back bend in class today!
