Safari

Safari, the Swahili word for travel, and the adventure we embarked on today. Michael, our driver and guide picked us up in Arushu in a clean white Land Ranger to begin our quest to see animals in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This was the beginning of an unforgettable experience. The exquisite landscape was filled with animals in their natural habitat, coexisting with Masai who are able to build villages on this land. It was bizarre to see zebras, giraffes and wildebeests mingling with the warriors and their herds, and not always peacefully. Our first sighting, giraffes on a ridge line, will always be etched in my mind. During the excursion I gasped, laughed, cried and took a TON of pictures.
