Le Marais

The winding streets of the Marais were crowded
with Parisiens enjoying a spike in sunshine.
V and I walked for hours,
chatting incessantly.

I've been charmed by Paris before,
but this time was different.
I have recurring dreams, nightmares actually,
where I am ooking at apartments to-let in New York.
My consciousness seeps into the quest;
cautioning me that I will not be happy with reduced square footage.
I awake, relieved to still be living in LA.
But for Paris, I would forgo my view, and kitchen storage,
at least for a season or two.
