Out of the forty-something books I read this year,
my favorite was Wallace Stegner's Crossing to Safety.
He has a staggering ability to create stunning prose from astute observations about
friendship, marriage and the cycle of life.
I read the book in February,
and it has stayed with me.
One of those books I'd like to read again,
like repeat travel, one visit is not enough.
