Holiday

Fourth of July commemorates our nations birthday, and clearly marks the middle of summer on the calendar.  Cook outs and vacations are in full swing.  Traffic is pleasantly lighter.  Corn, strawberries, stone fruit pie, and grilled meat grace picnic tables.  I like the predictability of holidays.  No matter how much things change during the year, there are things you can count on to remain the same.  More and more, I find comfort in tradition.  So today I celebrated at a BBQ, followed by a walk at dusk  to a local fireworks show.  The display of lights made me smile like a child.  Here's to summer in all its glory.
