One Year Later

Politically, it has been an exhausting and disturbing year.
But there's always a silver lining.
The misogynist in the White House has fueled a resistance whose power is just gaining momentum
#Metoo and Times Up would not exist without him.
In the bleak, somber light of this administration the oppressed awakened and shed their silence.
They gave voice to their stories of shame.
Those listening were awakened too and stop whispering the truth.
They shouted it from the front pages of every major newspaper and journal.
The red carpet, typically a couture runway,  became a platform for equality
when women refrained from talking about their sartorial choices and took back the night.
The real course correction is still to be determined.
Rapists have been publicly shamed and fired, but they have not been imprisoned.
In Hollywood the pay gap is becoming more and more transparent,
but salaries remain the same.
We remain diligent.
Eyes open, voices loud.
We march.  We resist.
