Tea House

In Griffith Park, beyond Dante's Peak,
a tea house was surreptitiously resurrected by a group of anonymous artists.
Built from reclaimed wood from the 2007 fire in these hills
 the redwood structure sits on a foundation overlooking the valley.
Visitors are urged to write their wishes for LA
on wooden shingles and hang them on studs inside the tea house.
A bell is rung to seal the wish.
The installation reminded me of Burning Man;
anonymous art built for interaction, meditation, and community.
The magical tea house was erected without a permit, and is sadly, in threat of being dismantled.
