As I made my way from NJ to Shelter Island, crushing summer city traffic finally gave way to greener thoroughfares and a steady calming flow. Greenport was wearing seasonal vibrant colors as a light afternoon rain pocked the windshield. I stopped for lunch, local produce and wine before boarding the ferry and making the final stretch to Lois.
