Hot Stuff

Ash from a near by fire and near 100 degree heat
was occasion to shut the windows and turn on the A/C.
This would be the unit's inaugural blast, or so I thought.
After several hours the interior thermostat was rising, and the air was stuffy.
Shortly after the sub-panel blew and with it my electricity.
This was an inauspicious start to a holiday weekend
enhanced by a dramatic flash lightening and wind storm.
Hours later, order or least power was restored,
but an uncomfortable few days were still forecast.

Scotch had an inspired idea to wake up early, get a jump on traffic and head to the beach.
By 830am we were strolling along The Pacific, rejuvenated by the seascape.
After two months without a camera, an eternity, my new Canon had finally arrived the previous day.
My mind never stopped framing shots,
but now I had a new device to capture the moving sun, and populated shoreline.
The magical sea created a vacation state of mind,
and a supreme escape from Saturday routines and inland heat.
